That is what Kamala Harris told a cheering crowd at West Allis Central High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this afternoon.
Hello, Kamala, and welcome to the presidential campaign!
Bye-bye Donald Trump. You and your campaign promise to drag this country back into its racist and misogynist past are finished.
Here’s another one from her speech in the city the Republican Party and its convention delegates left just days ago: “We’ll stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans because we trust women to make decisions about their own bodies and not have the government tell them what to do,” Harris said to “raucous applause,” according to ABC News. “And when Congress passes the law to restore reproductive freedoms, as president of the United States, I will sign it into law.”
You will be able to hear the cheers from every corner of the United States, as the Vice President delivers that line to crowds in the coming weeks.
Speaking of her years as the District Attorney of San Francisco and the Attorney General of California, Harris said, “In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain.” When she was finished ticking off her list of bad guys, she told the crowd, “So, hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type.” The crowd broke out in chants of “Lock him up! Lock him up!”
There’s another line Trump and the MAGA masses better get used to hearing.
Vice President Harris hit the ground running in the battleground state of Wisconsin on a day when a new poll shows the presidential race as neck-and-neck, just two days after Biden withdrew his candidacy. In a new Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted yesterday and today, Harris leads Trump 44 percent to 42 percent.
The themes of the Harris campaign haven’t even begun to sink in. Wait until you see the polls after she turns “We’re not going back” into the Democrats’ slogan for 2024. Every group of voters that has been questionable about Biden will be lining up behind Kamala Harris. Her campaign has already collected $100 million in small donations, and she is just getting started.
