Katie Porter (D-CA), newly re-elected to the House from deep Republican Orange County, California, went viral with her choice of reading material.
Porter is well known for the use of graphical tools while engaging in hearings and speeches in Congress. The power of her “white boarding” is legendary.
The Guardian reported on the devastating power of Porter’s number crunching with the white board:
The freshman congresswoman’s questioning device has become so notorious, the whiteboard has earned itself a nickname: “the mighty whiteboard of truth.”
Porter’s prop first became ubiquitous when she used it to win free coronavirus testing for all Americans, regardless of whether they have health insurance. More recently, Porter gained big praise after whipping out the whiteboard again, to give a pharmaceutical executive a dressing down for suspected price gouging….
In a true less-is-more gesture, Porter registered her disdain for the circus of the Congressional “treason caucus” holding up the Speaker vote for days, relegating all members to the status of hostage.
The author of the book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, was also delighted with the attention:

Reached for additional comment, Manson wrote to Newsweek on Saturday: “That’s the most productive thing Congress has done all year.”
Looking forward to more of Katie Porter’s visual aids as the new Congressional term proceeds.
