Probably the most important news stories in our nation’s history are being largely ignored by legacy media. Reuters has published a short piece about it, but Washington Post, New York Time and others? Crickets.

Here’s the deal. According to the release from Reuters, Elon Musk and his people are now in full control of the computer systems at OPM, Office of Personnel Management, and have locked out the staff of that department. Additionally, there is a sketchy report of Musk doing the same thing at Treasury, demanding access to the payment systems that handle trillions in government expenditures, including Social Security and Medicare—programs he wants to see gutted.

The Reuters report includes information that Musk’s team has programmers inside OPM 24/7 sleeping on cots. This is what he did when he was tearing down Twitter and removing all the guard rails that had previously been erected to curtail the activities of Nazis on the platform.

So, while Donald Trump has been launching daily executive order attacks against Constitutional functions and standards, Musk just went straight for the throat to take control of the government’s personnel and finance. And apparently he has more in store for us.

The idea that an un-elected private individual can walk into government departments and just take over is frankly insane. But even more insane is the relative silence that surrounds this situation.

Where are the watchdogs of the Fourth Estate? Tied up in their dog houses? Cowering at the end of their new self-installed leashes? Why is one agency and some lone blogger in Florida calling this out?

Hopefully some well trained and experienced investigative reporters are digging into this situation. But the obvious fact is that while we have been focused on the frontal attack of Trump and his jackboot minions and entertaining ideas of tying him up in courts, his biggest backer executed perfect flanking attacks almost unnoticed.

There can’t be anything legal about these actions. But when you’re the richest guy in the world, attorneys are just a pocket change item. And any bouts of conscience these “officers of the court” may harbor can be erased with a larger retainer—again pocket change.

All this time we were worried about dealing with a dictator trying to erase civil rights while going on a revenge tour against his enemies—which are actually every living human by the way. But no. We’ve got two. Trump is cementing his control of the government and its agencies. Musk is taking over as the dictator over the personnel and finance of the United States.

Two questions are now extant:

• Which one is going to be the most dangerous to the country?
• What are we going to do about it?
