We Once Dreamed

Did you know that dream in its earliest conception means to sing, rejoice, and make music? So let us dream together to build a better society, a true civilization where all are free and equal.

Once upon a time, we had a dream, and we combined this dream with visions of beauty and bounty. We worshipped this dream and willed into life. We (the many) came to appreciate the dream and went on to have similar dreams. These dreams thrived in the wild and anyone could pick them up and put them in their pockets until they were bulging with beauty. Some came to toast these dreams, and some came to slam and slaughter them. The dreams appeared to be invincible, and the dreamers were up to the task—casting dreams of plenty across the landscape. They dreamed with heart and soul and told each other jokes to keep the sparks alive.

Every so often, a dream would appear like lightning and spark a revolution of freedom and liberty. These dreams were frightening as well as enlightening and welcome. These dreams were more than a spark, they were fire itself burning with courage and resolution. These dreams heaved from hearts shackled by hell and the chains broke away. Slavery has never been in vogue, nevertheless bondage was a curse that purveyed the civilization. One had to read these words and digest them fully and we lifted the curse because evil is an aberration and not the true soul of man. It took time for this little dream to hatch in hearts and souls across the planet.

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time… This is the beginning of all remarkable stories. It is the story of your life beginning each day with a toast to life. It enables us to look beyond the hazards of life and discover the goodness that is bountiful just hidden behind a dream and we choose these dreams as we salute them. We pick a time to dream. Do we do it during the day and dub it a daydream or does it haunt our sleep?

You could taste this dream and see it become part of your own dreams and thus humanity was free from the bondage that imprisoned it.

I can dream, can’t I?

Aside: Dreams are like bagels in a toaster. Will you burn it, undercook it or toast it exactly right so you get that immaculate bagel chew?

Dreamland

Thus, this is a place where we own up to past transgressions and be accountable for whatever they may be and move forward with the best of intentions. Humanity is capable of this, just needs a nudge every now and then. This is the true art of artists.

PLEASE LET ME DREAM

Please let me dream
that all children smile
and that they never go hungry
and never abused even in jest

Please let me dream
that war was just
a nightmare and
I will wake up soon

Please let me dream
that flowers
never die

Please let me dream
that when you kissed my cheek
I did not disappear
