A Review of Our Country’s Trump Situation

Trump’s angry. He has an enemies list. He wants his pound of flesh. He has the courts. He has the power. He has immunity. His toadies are all in place. And he’s a mental case.

The scenario no sane person ever thought could happen:

2016: The American people elect a former television “reality” star and real estate mogul to the highest office in the land.

His campaign is offered assistance from the Russian government, which he accepts.

Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp goes into overdrive to pull him across the finish line. His propagandists paint his opponent as a sinister figure, spreading lies, disinformation and misinformation via his Fox News Channel, the most watched cable “news” outlet in the nation.

He wins.

The next four years are marked by grotesque incompetence and ineptitude. When his administration is tested by a global crisis, the Covid pandemic, he dithers for 10 weeks before finally accepting the magnitude of the situation—by which time, the United States became the leading nation in Covid cases and fatalities; eventually taking the lives of 1.1 million Americans.

2020: He’s defeated in the next election.

But he lies to his followers and tells them he actually won; that his opponent “cheated,” without offering any evidence. So he summons them to Washington to storm the Capitol in a failed rebellion against the will of the American people, wounding hundreds of police officers and resulting in several deaths.

He’s impeached not once, but twice; the first time for trying to extort an embattled ally, who just happens to be at war with the same Russian dictator who helped him in his 2016 campaign. The other for the attempted overthrow of a free and fair election.

But his lily-livered loyalists in the U.S. Senate exonerate him of both House indictments, freeing him to commit more crimes.

He’s caught red-handed with hundreds of stolen documents stacked floor-to-ceiling at his Florida clubhouse. He refuses to return them. He Instructs his staff to lie to the investigators about them. A formal investigation ensues. Federal charges are filed.

But the case dies when one of his appointed judges tosses it out like last week’s leftover meatloaf.

The Supreme Court, in an unprecedented and unconstitutional decision, declares the office of the president to be in effect, untouchable. He or she shall be immune from charges for any alleged crimes committed during his or her “official capacity as president.”

Making this president the first American in our 250 year history to be in effect ABOVE the law.
2024: He’s re-elected to a second term.

Trump 2.0 is very different from Trump 1.0. He’s angry. He promises “retribution.” And he’s untouchable, because the Supreme Court said so.

He clears the board of any Democrats or Republicans who haven”t gotten the MAGA-memo.

Actual governing can wait. Revenge first.

He discharges career public officers in all positions of the federal government and replaces them with people based on a single requirement: absolute fealty to HIM.

By appointing strictly loyalists, he becomes the first president to take complete control of:

  • The State Department.
  • The Justice Department.
  • The Defense Department.
  • The FBI.
  • Health and Human Services.
  • Homeland Security.

He didn”t appoint “the best” to run these departments, and all the other Cabinet secretaries. Far from it. He appointed the most loyal.

To HIM.

Fealty first. Competence? It’s overrated.

And that’s the way it is, October 28th, 2025:

The most powerful man in the world, a man who has amassed billions of dollars of wealth-buying influence, the man with the launch codes, a man who’s a textbook case of malignant narcissism, a man unconcerned for the actual needs and desires of the electorate who empowered him, a man for whom the conservative media, all major captains of technology and industry are called upon to “do business” with him if they want their piece of the action, is steering this ship of state.

He’s angry. He has an enemies list. He wants his pound of flesh. He has the courts. He has the power. He has immunity. His toadies are all in place. And he’s a mental case.

Woe, to be a mere voter during the age of Trump 2.0. Other than your votes, which he no longer needs, what can you do for him?

Not a goddamn thing.

It’s all about HIM from here on out.

All you Republicans out there reading this and clucking; “Oh, there goes liberal Bruce again, telling lies about Trump and Fox News and the Russia, Russia, Russia “hoax” because he’s a hater.”

I would just like to point out that I”ve never had to shell out one thin dime, let alone $787,500,000.00 as a settlement for lying on behalf of Donald Trump or anyone else.

Whereas Rupert Murdoch has.

Every word of this essay is true, and you all know it. But you”re too dishonest or too embarrassed to admit you”ve fallen for this conman’s long game.

And now…? Here we are.
