MAGA is trying to teach the country the lesson that if you go out of your way to help people being harmed by Trump's ICE thugs, you get added to the death threat list.
One thread has been constant since Trump came on the scene and made himself the darling of the Nazi fanboys lurking in our society: if you do anything to oppose Trump or even try to lessen the damage done by his people, you can expect to get death threats.
This is another aspect of the “comply or die” mentality displayed by ICE and CBP agents running around in various cities and even suburban and rural areas.
A story popped up on various media outlets February 7th about a towing company, Leo’s Tow, in Minneapolis that is returning cars to families of people kidnapped by ICE, free of charge. Agents would force a car over, arrest the occupants and then just leave the car in the road or badly parked, sometimes even blocking traffic.
The owner of the towing company and his crew finding where the owners live and returning the cars to families. They are saints for doing this kind of work and they get a lot of thanks from those families. But for the last few weeks they have been getting death threats as well.
This makes you stop and wonder. Who takes the time to dox and threaten the staff of a company just providing simple help to damaged families? What kind of hate runs around their tiny little minds?
Of course, Leo’s Tow company is not unique in receiving this kind of treatment. It happens to lawmakers who make any kind of statement against Trump, election officials and even judges. Last November, a conservative judge appointed by Reagan resigned and sounded a warning about threats. Some have even reported swatting attempts at their homes. One judge’s house in South Carolina was literally blown up.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who was overseeing the federal election interference case against Donald Trump, received violent death threats shortly after the case was assigned to her in August 2023. So people had to waiting for notifications of her assignment to the case for the threats to happen so quickly. Scarily enough this denotes the presence of some sort of intelligence gathering operation.
If you get noticed by Trump’s, let’s call them the threat squad for lack of any other term, they move pretty quickly to post doxxing information about you and then send you anonymous messages and phone calls designed to intimidate and instill fear.
All in all, it is pretty cowardly operation. But it can backfire on the perpetrators. Back in 2023 a woman from Texas, sending threats to Judge Chutkan was found, arrested and charged for her actions. Nowadays one has to wonder if these cases are even flagged to be investigated at a Federal level. Local investigations are being done, but since many of these threats, like those against Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota are inspired by Trump directly, one has to question whether his pet DOJ will even raise an eyebrow.
In any event, the idea that there is an operation watching for Trump opposition and then launching intimidation tactics isn’t really all that surprising. Maybe some of the tourists who visited the Capital on Jan 6, 2021 are still on the job.
