Former casino mogul, failed plastic surgery experiment and former finance chair of the Republican National Committee, Steve Wynn, is about to be sued by the DOJ to force him to register as a foreign lobbyist. The allegations against him include attempts to lobby Trump administration officials to obtain a diplomatic favor for China.
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that people familiar with the matter said that prosecutors have gathered evidence against Wynn, who has served as an informal adviser to former President Trump,
Sources also noted that the Justice Department is prepared to bring Wynn to court if he does not register as a lobbyist under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), provisions of which allows Justice officials to use a court order to force compliance with the law.
Sexual assault allegations in 2018 forced Wynn to resign from his own company. Surprisingly, he was also forced out of his position as RNC finance chair. But two years later the Republican Party was still happy to accept his money.
