Trump: The Man Who Would Be Dictator

by | May 25, 2025 | Opinions & Commentary

The only thing now standing between Trump's ability to fully ignore court rulings and thus attaining full dictatorship is the Senate. Not a comforting thought.

Just to put things into perspective, this man has deliberately sabotaged the entire world’s economic stability. When America’s biggest employer announced price increases to adjust for their losses due to his tariffs, he instructed them to “eat” them.

When Apple announced plans to move iPhone production from China to India, he commanded them to move production to America or face a 25% tariff on every iPhone.

By whose definition do Republicans consider economic extortion and strong-arming “free market capitalism?”
He was so enamored with MAGA reaction to his mugshot, that he recreated it for his official portrait. In this nation’s 248 year history, he’s the only president who’s ever been immortalized in a mugshot—a humiliation that no drug trafficker or child pornographer wants any part of. But he likes it. He thinks it makes him look intimidating.

He and his Cabinet of 100% sycophants, contrary to their testimony before the Senate, have been using the levers of power to silence their critics and harass their political foes. Including journalists who refuse to participate in the renaming of locations on maps, institutes of higher learning who refuse to buckle to his regressive policies, and even threatening our closest friends and neighbors with annexation.

But the worst may be yet to come.

His “big, beautiful bill” that just passed in the House on Thursday has an Easter egg hidden in it. Section 70302 would prohibit federal courts from enforcing charges of contempt; something he and his boot-licking colleagues are very familiar with.

“No court of the United States may use appropriated funds to enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order if no security was given when the injunction or order was issued.”

In other words, in this bill’s present form, the man who the Supreme Court has already granted unprecedented immunity, is within a hair’s breadth of achieving power OVER the courts; his last nemesis.

Per Erwin Chemerinsky, Dean of University of California School of law: “The provision would make most existing injunctions in antitrust cases, police reform cases, school desegregation cases and others, unenforceable. It serves no purpose but to weaken the power of the federal courts.”

What do you suppose he’d do then?
