America's dangerous and incompetent national media helped set the table for Saturday night's appalling events

The absurd events Saturday night deep inside the Beltway of our nation’s capital, and the nauseating, incomprehensible fallout can’t go without comment, and a stern warning that we simply cannot continue this way in America.
Here is what we know without a shadow of a doubt: We have an absolute, out-of-control madman in our White House who is being encouraged and given a platform to be just as revolting as he wants to be, by a snobby, incompetent national press, which completely lost the thread a decade ago.
The shooting in the Washington Hilton hotel during the pretentious, stupid White House Correspondents’ Dinner was literally the only thing that took place Saturday night that Americans can truly relate to, because with 500 million guns spread across our countryside fear of being on the other end of some angry nut job’s bullet is our daily reality.
That of course should be the prevailing story from this idiotic event, but all too predictably our worthless, national media can’t seem to figure that out.
Instead, they are too busy patting themselves on the back for not getting killed, while providing a warm platform to the fascist blowhard trying to sell the American taxpayers a multi-million dollar ballroom they have absolutely no use for and will never enter.

We are in another senseless war, prices are spiraling out of control, and our vote and clean air and water are under attack. God knows how anybody can afford to pay for healthcare in this country, and inflation and interest rates are heading north, along with the stock market, because the rich need to reward themselves for all their hard work keeping everybody else down.
Oh … and what about those Epstein Files that are being kept hidden from us by the men in power in those bow ties at the damn dinner, who want to be free to continue stepping on the necks of our nation’s women?
In short, America is a complete disaster area and laughingstock of the world right now, and most everybody outside that stupid hotel seems to know it.
Longtime readers will know that I don’t consume the crap that passes for TV “news” these days, so I admit to not watching a minute of the gory, me-first gala, and only about five minutes of its aftermath, which is just too bizarre to process.
Republicans’ answer to gun violence in America is to erect a taxpayer-funded ballroom in Washington to keep our politicians safe when they hobnob with billionaire donors, while the slobbery national press provides cover by making sure they keep the focus of any story on themselves.
On Saturday night, we got an instructive look of what happens when our press completely surrenders to a stone-cold crazy and ruthless tyrant who has been trying to suffocate them, and their reaction to it is to spend the next 48 hours giving him oxygen to insult the rest of us.
I’m long past being furious at Trump and his racist voters about everything, but our national press is a total wreck, who all need to just shut the fuck up and go away.
If you still aren’t convinced how worthless they are after what happened on Saturday night and the sewage in its wake, you deserve a terrible case of incurable indigestion for consuming all the slop they are serving you 24/7.
I warned you about all this last week.
It is clear our national media really are this incompetent and selfish, and refuse to admit to the crimes they have committed during a 10-year crime spree in which they have normalized lying, attacks on America, shootings in our schools, the rape of children, and an obvious assault on our Democracy by an authoritarian group of oligarchs who are picking the pockets of their audiences.
We will not recover from this brutal assault in my lifetime, if at all.
So sure, sit down together, pinkies out in your lavish hotel ballroom, and pick away at your shrimp cocktail, sip champagne and play the rest of America for complete goddam fools. Maybe you’ll get a super-terrific ballroom built that will protect you from the rest of us.
You really can’t make this shit up.
This is why you (we) need to starve them. You have all the power to decide what you want to consume and who you want leading the United States of America even if this regime and the fawning press that covers it would prefer you forget all that.
They are tied at the hip and want you to need them.
Turn ‘em off and shut ‘em off. All of them.
Once again, those self-serving toothies showed you exactly who they are, and I suggest you respond with a loud click.
For now, keep marching, rallying, talking, writing, complaining, calling, and demanding better from our politicians and busted media.
Mostly, vote like your damn life depends on it.
Saturday night and what has followed simply have to be the end of this decade-long tragedy in America.
Time to tune into sanity and start kicking the ever-loving shit out of the billionaires and the phonies on our TV sets, who have allowed themselves to be programmed by them.
And if you still aren’t sure I got all this right, a final warning: Trump has told the White House Correspondents’ Association he wants the event rescheduled within the next 30 days.
Not one of you should bet a dime against that tragedy happening.
